Friends and family often ask what supplements or body care products I use and where to find them! As someone who loves sharing resources, I thought it might be helpful to gather my favorite products, merchants, and sites together in one place.
Please know that most of the links below are affiliate links, so if you make a purchase after following the link, I will receive a small commission on the sale at NO extra cost to you – this helps keep Healthy Life Heather going. My promise to you: I only include links to items I personally purchase, use, and love.
Healthy shopping online:
Save $10 on 1st Vitacost order
I’d never heard of Vitacost until my integrative medicine doctor suggested I consider purchasing my new, long list of supplements from them. That evening I made my first Vitacost purchase, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since.
Vitacost offers discount supplements, health foods, vitamins, body care products, and more. I love them because they offer:
- free shipping on orders over $49 (not hard to achieve when you’re buying a few supplements)
- all sorts of deals, special offers, and promo codes
- fast delivery and great packaging
I primarily order digestive supplements, but I’ll also add Organic India’s Tulsi Tea (I especially love the decaf Chai), cans of Farmer’s Market Organic Canned Pumpkin (BPA free liner!), or body care products to the cart from time to time.
Vitacost offers a refer-a-friend program, so if you’re a first-time customer and use my referral link, you’ll receive $10 off your first order of $30 or more. For referring you, I also receive $10 off of my next order. Win-win!
If you want to try Vitacost and save on your first order, here’s my link for the refer-a-friend program. TIP: You’ll see a coupon code as soon as you register. Jot this down and apply it to your cart when you’re ready!
What’s in my kitchen
Coconut
While I can’t have coconut at the moment, I LOVE these products and look forward to having them again as soon as I’m able to successfully reintroduce coconut:
Natural Value coconut milk – full fat coconut milk, gum-free, BPA-free liner
Dr. Bronner’s coconut oil – unrefined coconut oil and one of my two favorites
Nutiva coconut oil – unrefined coconut oil and one of my two favorites
Nutiva coconut sugar – I use this as a 1-to-1 replacement for refined sugar in recipes
More food
Maple sugar – when I can’t use honey or maple syrup in a recipe, I use maple sugar
Navitas raw cacao powder – love this in baked or raw paleo treats
Navitas lucuma powder – this is always on hand to make one of my favorite treats
Sunbutter – just ground sunflower seeds with no added sugar, salt, or oils
Very finely ground almond flour – I love the fine grind on this flour
Himilayan pink salt – we’ve been using this exclusively for a year and love it
Pea protein powder – I switched to this protein in my smoothies when I could no longer have brown rice protein (love that is has no sweeteners or additives!)
Hemp protein powder – I prefer pea protein but always have this on hand and add 1 TB to smoothies
Great Lakes gelatin (red can) – unflavored beef gelatin used for homemade jello, gummies, and for setting things
Great Lakes gelatin/collagen hydrolysate (green can) – used when you don’t want/need something to set
California Olive Ranch olive oil – we switched to this extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) after learning that it meets EVOO standards (and the one I had been using for years didn’t)
Bearded Brothers energy bars – I can only eat the Radical Raspberry Lemon at the moment, but they’re my current go-to treat when I’m out and about
Eating Evolved primal chocolate – chocolate bars made with maple sugar instead of cane sugar
Epic Bars – a few flavors are safe for me and considered essential for road trips
Kitchenwares
Unbleached parchment paper – have used this for years as a baking tray liner for roasting veggies and baking
Unbleached baking cups – my favorite liners for muffins and cupcakes
Veggie spiralizer – we’ve used this to turn several veggies into noodles
Mandolin – one of my favorite kitchen gadgets to slice or julienne vegetables evenly
Healthy reading and recipes
I subscribe to so many health and wellness websites that the list below highlights only some of my top reads! Recipes on the food blogs are paleo (or paleo friendly), and I love learning from people who are on similar health journeys.
Chris Kresser – if I could only list one site, it would be this one, as Chris loves digging into research and offers thoughtful, detailed advice on gut health
